Yukitsuna

camellia blossoms steal
wind from clouds, open lanes, spires
lift a late day high
reminisce cicada chirr/
marcescant hymns of summer/

birds in cages skirr
ruffled covert feathers sing
window frames skirted/
moonrise over Kyoto
sets in scarlet tone poem near

scents unseen by night:
gentle waft of orchid plant,
lapsang souchong tea/
the pungent musk of mustard
hovers over earth and sky
